Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE Lead

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead a portfolio of forward-deployed engineering engagements across business and platform domains; define priorities, allocate resources, and ensure delivery of measurable outcomes within defined timelines.
•    Serve as the senior technical lead in discovery and solution design with executive stakeholders; translate ambiguous opportunities into actionable, production-ready plans.
•    Own and evolve forward deployment methodologies, including engagement standards, delivery playbooks, and handoff frameworks.
•    Champion a reuse-first approach, driving the creation of reusable patterns, reference architectures, and platform contributions from field learnings.
•    Establish and enforce engineering quality standards, including secure-by-default practices, observability, testability, and operational readiness.
•    Define and implement a scalable model for transitioning solutions from prototype to long-term ownership by internal teams.
•    Partner with architecture, security, compliance, and senior technology leadership to align on strategy and governance.
•    Identify platform gaps and investment opportunities based on delivery insights; influence roadmap and engineering priorities.
•    Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of senior engineers.
•    Stay current with advancements in AI, platform engineering, and regulated delivery environments, bringing best practices into the organization.

Basic Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred.
•    14+ years of software engineering and technical leadership experience, including ownership of production systems and large-scale delivery initiatives.
•    Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries is a plus.
•    Strong understanding of modern AI application patterns, including:
o    Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
o    Semantic search
o    Agent-based systems
•    Hands-on experience building backend services, APIs, and scalable production systems.
•    Ability to operate across architecture, data, and platform layers.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Proven experience building or scaling engineering delivery functions such as solutions engineering, forward deployment, or platform engineering.
•    Track record delivering AI, data, or workflow-driven solutions in regulated environments.
•    Strong architectural and systems-thinking capabilities across services, data, and infrastructure.
•    Experience creating and operationalizing delivery standards, playbooks, or centers of excellence.
•    Ability to balance speed, governance, and operational rigor at scale.
•    Familiarity with internal developer platforms, reusable infrastructure, and productized engineering patterns.

•    Proficiency in one or more of: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
•    Experience with API design, system integration, and secure engineering practices
•    Ability to work across data, AI, workflow, and platform domains
•    Experience using modern AI tools with a focus on production-grade systems (not just prototypes)
•    Familiarity with application frameworks and containerization technologies
