The work:

The SharePoint & Power Platform Support Specialist serves as a frontline technical resource supporting customers across enterprise Microsoft collaboration platforms. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving issues related to SharePoint (2019, SE, SPO), Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, while ensuring users receive timely, accurate, and customer centric assistance. The specialist leverages a solid understanding of Microsoft licensing, permissions models, and environment nuances across unclassified and classified government implementations. In addition to core support efforts, while we assist our customers in migrating from legacy products to modern cloud-based M365, this role will assist customers to troubleshoot legacy SharePoint customizations, workflows, and custom web apps before escalating to subject matter experts. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, excellent with customers, and consistent in documenting work and managing tickets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support for SharePoint and Power Platform users, including issue intake, triage, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  • Assist users in diagnosing issues related to SharePoint permissions, site architecture, content access, document management, and Power Platform functionality (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Troubleshoot functional issues in 2013 workflows, SharePoint Designer–based processes, and legacy customizations; escalate to senior engineers when advanced remediation is required.
  • Support team, clients, and guide customers in understanding Microsoft licensing, permission structures, and governance across SharePoint 2019, SE, SPO, M365, and specialized environments.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in ticketing systems, including troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and follow up actions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineering teams to escalate complex issues, convey customer context, and support efficient resolution cycles.
  • Proactively identify recurring issues, propose improvements to knowledge articles, and contribute to a stable, well documented support ecosystem.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring users feel supported, informed, and confident throughout the troubleshooting process.

Here's what you need:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands on administration experience with SharePoint (on prem and/or cloud) and Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Proficiency using SharePoint Administration Manager (SAM).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting end users in troubleshooting SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft licensing models, permission structures, and access management for enterprise and government environments (SharePoint 2019, SE, SPO, M365, Copilot, Workflow Manager 2.0, SAM).
  • Familiarity with 2013 workflows, SharePoint Designer, and legacy customizations, with the ability to troubleshoot at a functional level.
  • Strong communication and customer engagement skills; able to translate technical concepts into user friendly guidance.
  • Proven ability to remain organized, follow processes, and maintain consistent documentation in ticketing tools.
  • Active Top Secret clearance and willingness to work onsite in Washington, DC.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in environments undergoing modernization or transitions from legacy SharePoint components.
  • Exposure to Power Platform governance, solution lifecycle management, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT support operations or service desk workflows.
