Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Specialist
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Specialist to support the tracking, inventory, and lifecycle management of IT hardware assets throughout the organization. This role is ideal for candidates who are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing repetitive inventory-related tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
The HAM Specialist will assist with inventory management, asset tracking, equipment movement, and data entry activities. The selected candidate will receive guidance and support from the Hardware Asset Management leadership team and should possess a strong willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate asset records through data entry and updates within the organization's asset management system (Asset Panda or similar asset tracking tools).
  • Conduct physical inventory audits of IT hardware including laptops, desktops, monitors, peripherals, and other equipment.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, moving, and tracking hardware assets across facilities.
  • Verify asset information and ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support asset lifecycle processes including deployment, relocation, storage, and retirement of equipment.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Generate and maintain inventory documentation, reports, and logs.
  • Collaborate with IT and Asset Management teams to ensure compliance with inventory management procedures.
  • Follow established asset management policies and best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience with inventory management, asset management, warehouse operations, logistics, or related administrative support functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, process-driven work with accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control and asset tracking concepts.
  • Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport computer equipment and related hardware as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Asset Panda or another asset management platform.
  • Previous IT asset management or hardware inventory experience.
  • Military veteran experience.
  • Experience working in municipal, city, county, state, or other public-sector environments.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware lifecycle management processes.
