Soft Goods Designer (Onsite in Exton, PA)

Location: Exton, PA (On-site)Job Type: Contract (Estimated 1-Year Duration)Compensation Range: $24 - 29 per hourCella is seeking a Soft Goods Designer for a 1-year contract opportunity with a leading consumer goods company. Located on-site in Exton, PA, this role provides the unique opportunity to conceptualize and develop new physical products that elevate everyday customer experiences. Working in close collaboration with core design specialisms and global cross-functional business teams, you will play an active role in defining form, aesthetics, and user interfaces across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:Conceptualize and develop original designs for new soft goods products while providing design support and updates for existing product lines. Utilize industrial sewing machines to craft high-accuracy prototypes and samples to test complex designs. Define physical product attributes including form, aesthetics, and user-product interfaces. Manage independent workload and design deliverables to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are consistently met. Partner with internal design specialists across Industrial Design, Color & Trend, Fashion, Usability, and Craftsmanship.

Collaborate directly with domestic design teams and cross-functional global partners across Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain. Ensure all concepts and final designs align with established brand and product architecture guidelines.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.3+ years of relevant experience in corporate or consulting design focused on soft goods or fashion. Formal patternmaking training (undergraduate-level coursework in flat pattern and draping principles).Hands-on sewing expertise with the ability to construct physical prototypes using industrial sewing machines. Demonstrated rapid ideation skills, drawing/sketching ability, and strong visual communication capabilities.

Proficiency with 2D/3D digital design tools, including vector, raster, and Adobe Creative Suite. Working knowledge of soft goods materials, filler selection, ergonomics, human factors, and design for manufacturing (DFM).Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Ability to travel up to once per quarter as needed.
