Job Description

AlphaGov (Casa Moon LLC d/b/a AlphaGov) delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits β€” not speculative staffing banks.
This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.
AlphaGov is seeking a Grants Management Consultant for remote, project-based work with public agencies and related organizations. There is no guaranteed assignment.
What you'll do:
Support grant-management assessments, policy updates, and post-award administration design
Review how an agency tracks applications, awards, drawdowns, reporting, and closeout
Identify control gaps in allowability, matching, subrecipient monitoring, and documentation
Draft procedures and roles the grants and finance staff can follow
Advise on the system fields and reports an agency needs, without pretending to implement every system
Contribute grants qualifications and past-performance narrative to proposals only when naming is authorized
Distinguish federal, state, and local grant rules you have actually applied
Apply to be considered.

Required

  • Experience managing or advising post-award grants administration for a public agency or pass-through entity
  • Working knowledge of allowability, matching, reporting, and subrecipient monitoring
  • At least two grant programs or agencies you can describe, including your role
  • Ability to write procedures a grants office can use
  • Comfortable as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional client travel

Nice to have

  • Uniform Guidance experience on federal pass-through funds
  • Experience with a grants management system used by a city, county, state, or school system
