About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Specialist. This role is responsible for assisting clients with export-related inquiries, processing import documentation, and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection  regulations while delivering timely and accurate service. This is a full-time Monday–Friday position with standard business hours, based at our Laredo, TX. office.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading to extract data required for export filings.
  • Accurately input and submit EEI/SED data into the proprietary software.
  • Verify critical data points including Schedule B commodity codes, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) numbers, values, quantities, and country of origin.
  • Monitor AES responses for acceptances, internal transactional errors, or fatal errors, and resolve basic issues promptly.
  • Proactively reach out to shippers or account managers to obtain missing documentation or clarify ambiguous shipment details.
  • Ensure all filings adhere to the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Maintain organized digital records of all submissions, internal transaction numbers (ITNs), and customer correspondence for auditing purposes.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google sheets and the ability to quickly learn specialized logistics software.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite 
  • 1–2 years of U.S. Customs brokerage, import operations, or trade compliance experience, including working knowledge of tariff classification, duty programs, and CBP entry processes.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to multitask and deliver exceptional customer service. 
  • Ability to work independently, make rapid and accurate decisions in high-stress situations, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Bilingual : English and Spanish with full professional proficiency in both written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Customs, or a related field.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent customs training preferred
