Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Field Software Test Engineer with strong experience performing software acceptance, integration, and regression testing, as well as configuration management. The candidate will take a key role in expanding the scale and accelerate the pace of our research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) supporting national security client projects at our facility in Upper Marlboro, MD and at other locations within the continental US. This role offers the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, data scientists, and AI scientists and contribute to innovative technology development and experimentation.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with software engineering teams to configure, deploy, and test applications and microservices on on-premises infrastructure and on cloud platforms.
  • Develop and maintain configuration documentation and software test plans.
  • Perform and document tests of APIs and microservices, including containerized services, communicate issues to development teams, and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Coordinate testing activities with ongoing IDSL projects and priorities set up by program and technical leadership.
  • Contribution to maintenance of software testing environments.
  • Facilitate seamless code promotion into production by communicating issues identified by testing and verifying resolution.
  • Support cross-functional teams by ensuring that our software products are tested and ready to meet changing research needs and client requirements.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience or Master of Science (MS) with 3+ years of experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with teams across locations.
Technical Requirements
  • Strong experience testing and configuring software on premises and at field locations sites.
  • Strong experience with at least one programming language (e.g., GO).
  • Experience testing both front end and back end software products.
  • Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman.
  • Experience testing IoT and USB device integrations.
  • Experience with performance and load testing using tools like Gatling.
  • Experience with test automation suites such as Seleneum.
  • Experience with agile software development and tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, or similar.
  • Understanding with event-driven systems or distributed architectures.
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with identity management principles and tools such as Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps best-practices.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
