Job Description

Role: Senior Workload Automation Analyst
Location: Woodbridge, NJ
(Office presence required for the first 2-3 weeks, then transitioning to ad-hoc visits upon Client request)
Job Type: W2 Contract (Long Term)

Experience Level: Senior (or) Lead required

Must Have:
  • Proven expertise in Architecture Assessment and Systems Analysis for complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in Enterprise Batch Management Solutions (specifically migrating legacy workloads into SMA OpCon).
  • Strong Windows Administration background with the ability to map and analyze file dependencies, SQL jobs, scripts, and access controls.
About the Role:
  • We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Workload Automation Analyst to lead the assessment, documentation, and migration planning of enterprise batch management systems for our financial services client.
  • In this critical role, you will conduct a deep-dive, current-state assessment of a legacy PRDCon environment and design a strategic, risk-mitigated migration path into SMA OpCon. You will act as the bridge between systems architecture and operational execution, ensuring that all job dependencies, file flows, and security models are
  • accurately mapped, documented, and successfully transitioned.
Key Responsibilities:
System Assessment & Inventory
  • Conduct a detailed current-state assessment of the legacy PRDCon environment, analyzing directory structures, file dependencies, inheritance, scheduling logic,
  • permissions, and access controls.
  • Assess the target OpCon environment, including schedules, calendars, job structures, security models, integrations, monitoring, and operational procedures.
  • Perform a comprehensive inventory of jobs, schedules, dependencies, scripts, executables, batch files, and SQL jobs across both PRDCon and OpCon.
  • Identify active PRDCon jobs, scripts, and file flows, while pinpointing unused, obsolete, or duplicate processes targeted for retirement.
  • Validate job volumes and processing scale, analyzing daily volumes, peak processing periods, and execution frequency.
  • Evaluate complex calendaring requirements, including market calendars, holidays, business rules, and exception processing.
Architecture, Security, & Documentation
  • Create detailed systems and interaction diagrams illustrating end-to-end processing flows, including key interfaces to business applications and databases.
  • Map file-based processing flows, triggers, dependencies, and handoffs across the environment.
  • Assess existing security and access rights, mapping PRDCon's permission model to OpCon's Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and security model.
  • Determine documentation and data retention requirements for deprecated jobs, logs, and processing artifacts.
Strategic Migration Planning & Risk Management
  • Develop a practical, phase-based migration and go-forward plan for moving required PRDCon workloads into OpCon.
  • Define migration sequencing, prioritization, validation testing, and rollback considerations.
  • Identify and document operational, technical, security, monitoring, logging, and resiliency risks.
  • Evaluate the impact of anticipated infrastructure, database, or platform changes on workload automation.
  • Support the client's strategic planning for the complete retirement of the PRDCon environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Systems Analysis & Architecture: Proven experience performing deep-dive architecture assessments and systems analysis on complex, enterprise-level environments.
  • Workload Automation Expertise: Deep subject matter expertise in Enterprise Batch Management Solutions (specifically SMA OpCon).
  • Windows Administration: Strong background in Windows server environments, including analyzing batch files, executables, and directory structures.
  • Migration Experience: Prior experience planning and executing the migration of legacy job schedulers to modern workload automation platforms.
  • Technical Mapping: Strong ability to trace and map SQL jobs, script dependencies, and file triggers.
  • Security Mapping: Experience translating legacy access rights into modern Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models.
  • Documentation: Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to create clear systems diagrams, process flows, and operational procedures.
Nice to Have:
  • Direct experience analyzing or working with PRDCon environments.
  • Background in the Financial Services/Wealth Management industry (familiarity with market calendars and trading holidays).
