Active Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Wyoming or qualified to obtain one through reciprocity, having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exams with demonstrated experience to design, approve, certify, and seal drawings and engineering deliverables as deemed necessary.
Role 1: Professional Engineer Process Power Plant / EPC Detailed Design
Seeking a licensed Professional Engineer Process to own system design, description, and P&ID development for balance-of-plant process and utility systems on power generation projects. This role defines control design/strategy for assigned systems and interfaces closely with the partner firm's detailed I&C, mechanical, piping, and structural teams to ensure a coordinated design.
Job Responsibilities
- Own system design, engineering description, and P&ID development for assigned balance-of-plant systems: compressed air, ammonia supply and storage, closed cycle cooling water, fuel gas supply, emissions sampling and analysis/turbine drains, service water, potable water, wastewater collection and treatment, and oil spill prevention.
- Develop control design/strategy for these systems (control philosophy, interlocks, setpoints) as input to the detailed control system design, I/O lists, and logic diagrams produced by the Instrumentation & Controls team.
- Support Site Fire Protection System engineering jointly with the client partner (partner provides engineering sketches; Cyient completes drafting and documentation).
- Prepare and maintain the process design basis, process parameters list, and related process engineering documentation.
- Perform or support PSV (pressure safety valve) reviews and coordinate relief/safety device sizing with mechanical and piping engineering.
- Coordinate process design interfaces with mechanical/piping (pipe routing, isometrics, pipe stress) and structural (pipe rack loading) disciplines to ensure design consistency.
- Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and other safety and risk assessment studies as required to support process safety on assigned systems.
- Contribute process engineering input to procurement and construction specifications for in-line devices and process equipment, and support joint technical review of submittals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary 3D model reviews and coordination meetings with the partner firm to review project needs, status, and space-control results.
- Prepare and, where applicable, stamp (PE seal) assigned process engineering deliverables in accordance with jurisdictional licensing requirements.
- Track and report engineering man-hour progress against budget/schedule for assigned scope; support project controls and document control processes.
- Participate in client/partner coordination meetings, technical queries, and design reviews; present and defend technical solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development. Job Qualifications

- Active Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Wyoming or qualified to obtain one through reciprocity, having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exams with demonstrated experience to design, approve, certify, and seal drawings and engineering deliverables as deemed necessary.
- Minimum 5-8 years of progressive process engineering experience, ideally including power plant balance-of-plant utility/process systems (compressed air, cooling water, fuel gas, water/wastewater systems, etc.).
- Experience developing P&IDs, system design descriptions, and control strategies/philosophies for utility and process systems.
- Proven experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, AVEVA PRO/II Simulation) and mass/energy balance and equipment sizing calculations.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer) and PSV/relief sizing principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., API, ASME, ISA) and experience participating in HAZOP/LOPA studies.
- Experience working within a multi-firm delivery model (e.g., EPC/owner's engineer + detailed design partner) and following an established RACI/scope-split matrix, including close coordination with a partner firm's I&C, mechanical, and structural teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to manage manhour budgets against a defined scope.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; project management experience is a plus.
Role 2: Professional Engineer Electrical Power Plant / EPC Detailed Design
Seeking a licensed Professional Engineer Electrical to lead detailed electrical design on power generation projects. This role owns physical and non-physical electrical design deliverables from underground duct banks and grounding through switchgear wiring diagrams and lighting systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead detailed design and drafting oversight for physical electrical systems: equipment arrangement layouts, grounding (above/below grade), lightning protection, underground duct banks, electrical manholes, embedded conduits, cable tray, aboveground conduit/raceway, and circuit routing (circuit and raceway lists).
- Design and calculate site/area/roadway lighting systems, including illumination calculations, fixture/component selection, BOMs, and lighting circuiting.
- Develop non-physical design deliverables: MV/LV switchgear schematic and wiring diagrams, LV MCC combined wiring diagrams, panelboard schedules, and associated circuiting (assignments, numbering, sizing).
- Perform grounding analysis/calculations and support cathodic protection and heat-tracing/freeze-protection design and calculations.
- Design temporary/construction power distribution.
- Review vendor and contractor submittals for electrical equipment packages (switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, transformers, UPS, DC systems, CCTV, non-segregated phase bus duct) and coordinate resolution of comments.
- Review and coordinate structural interfaces for electrical items (e.g., support structures for bus duct, embedded conduits, manholes) with the structural discipline.
- Perform design calculations, review, approve, and certify with a PE stamp on drawings and engineering deliverables.
- Participate in multidisciplinary 3D model reviews and space-control coordination (Navisworks or similar), and support model-based clash resolution for electrical routing.
- Coordinate with the partner engineering firm on system-level scope (one-line/three-line/phasing diagrams, ETAP modeling, load flow, short-circuit, protective relay coordination, arc flash analysis, MV/LV cable sizing) to ensure consistent, coordinated deliverables.
- Track and report engineering man-hour progress against budget/schedule for assigned scope; support project controls and document control processes.
- Participate in client/partner coordination meetings, technical queries, and design reviews; present and defend technical solutions.

- Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, UL, and NFPA standards, plus grounding, lightning protection, and hazardous area/electrical safety requirements.
- Direct experience with grounding and lightning protection design, underground raceway/duct bank/manhole design, cable tray and conduit routing, lighting design/illumination calculations, MV/LV switchgear and MCC wiring diagrams, panelboard schedules, and cathodic protection.
- Experience reviewing vendor submittals for major electrical equipment packages (switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS/DC systems).
- Familiarity with ETAP or similar power systems analysis software is a plus (even where system-level analysis sits with a partner firm, the ability to interpret and coordinate against it is expected).
- Experience working within a multi-firm delivery model (e.g., EPC/owner's engineer + detailed design partner) and following an established RACI/scope-split matrix.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for client and partner coordination; ability to manage man-hour budgets against a defined scope.
- Project management experience or track record leading discipline scope on EPC projects is a plus.
Role 3: Professional Engineer Piping Power Plant / EPC Detailed Design
Seeking a licensed Professional Engineer Piping to lead detailed piping design on power generation projects. This role owns pipe routing, isometrics, and 3D-coordinated piping deliverables across major plant utility and process systems, serves as Engineer of Record (EOR) for review of documents and drawings, e.g., isometrics.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead detailed pipe routing, above- and below-grade isometric development, and 3D model space control/clash resolution for major plant systems: compressed air, ammonia supply and storage, closed cycle cooling water, fuel gas supply, emissions sampling and turbine drains, site fire protection, service water, potable water, wastewater collection and treatment, and oil spill prevention.
- Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) reviewing P&IDs and isometrics prepared by the client engineering partner for the systems above, and issue review comments/redlines within the agreed man-hour budget.
- Prepare and review piping layouts, drafting deliverables, and stress-analysis coordination inputs (e.g., pipe rack loading, pipe stress coordination with the structural discipline) using industry-standard software such as CAESAR II.
- Prepare quantities/lists for in-line devices (valves, fittings, specialty components) to support procurement specifications developed by the client partner and contribute input to construction specifications.
- Participate in joint technical review of construction submittals and, where scoped, procurement submittals for piping-related equipment and in-line devices.
- Coordinate pipe routing and support design with the structural discipline for pipe racks, pipe stress coordination, and support structures.
- Support hazardous plant area definition drafting per client-provided engineering procedures.
- Prepare and stamp (PE seal) assigned piping isometrics and drawings in accordance with jurisdictional licensing requirements.
- Participate in multidiscipline 3D model reviews and space-control coordination (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, E3D) to resolve routing conflicts across disciplines.
- Track and report engineering man-hour progress against budget/schedule for assigned scope; support project controls and document control processes.
- Participate in client/partner coordination meetings, technical queries, and design reviews; present and defend technical solutions.

- Minimum 8 years of experience in piping design within power, oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar heavy industrial sectors, ideally including power plant balance-of-plant utility and process piping systems.
- Proficient in piping stress analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II) and strong understanding of ASME B31 series codes (B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8).
- Proficiency with 3D piping/plant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, E3D) for pipe routing, isometric generation, and multidiscipline space/clash coordination.
- Experience acting as Engineer of Record (EOR) reviewing P&IDs and isometrics produced by a partner engineering firm, including comment tracking and redline turnaround against a man-hour budget.
- Working knowledge of pipe materials, valves, fittings, and in-line device selection sufficient to develop quantities/lists supporting procurement specifications.
- Experience working within a multi-firm delivery model (e.g., EPC/owner's engineer + detailed design partner) and following an established RACI/scope-split matrix.
- Experience coordinating with structural engineering on pipe rack design, pipe stress inputs, and support loads.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to manage man-hour budgets against a defined scope.
- Experience with project management principles and/or a track record leading discipline scope on EPC projects is a plus.
