Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced MacOS Systems Engineer to develop and enhance remote management capabilities for macOS hardware and peripherals operating within a virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment. In this role, Mac Mini devices function as thin client terminals within Windows 11 virtual desktop environments running on both Citrix and VMware Horizon platforms.

This position is part of a broader initiative to extend established remote management capabilities from the Linux platform into the macOS ecosystem. The successful candidate will leverage existing concepts and architectures while designing and implementing macOS-specific solutions that enable secure, scalable, and efficient remote device management.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support remote management capabilities for macOS hardware and peripherals.
• Build and enhance system-level functionality that interfaces closely with macOS operating system components and hardware layers.
• Develop solutions within Apple Core API frameworks and macOS system services.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to extend proven Linux-based management concepts into macOS environments.
• Integrate development efforts into existing CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.
• Support Mac Mini thin client deployments operating within Windows 11 VDI environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform, hardware, and remote management issues.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operation across Citrix and VMware Horizon environments.
• Contribute to software design, testing, automation, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Strong familiarity with Mac hardware and macOS (OS X) internals.
• Experience working with Apple Core API frameworks and low-level system components.
• Development experience with one or more of the following languages in a macOS environment:
  • C
  • C++
  • Swift
  • Golang
• Working knowledge of CI/CD practices, tools, and software delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments and thin client architectures.
• Experience troubleshooting system-level issues in macOS platforms.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional engineering environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
• Experience supporting Citrix virtual desktop environments.
• Experience supporting VMware Horizon environments.
