Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Lead / Agentic AI Modernization Engineer to lead the design and implementation of AI-driven legacy modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with agentic AI, multi-agent systems, legacy/mainframe modernization, Java/Spring Boot, cloud-native engineering, and technical leadership.
• The candidate will work at the intersection of AI agent engineering, legacy application modernization, and cloud-native development, using AI agents to analyze legacy systems and accelerate migration to modern platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of LLM APIs, tool/function calling, RAG, agent memory, prompt engineering, and structured outputs.
• Experience designing sequential, parallel, supervisor/worker, reflection, and human-in-the-loop agent workflows.
• Strong legacy modernization experience with COBOL, CICS, IMS, DB2, JCL, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB and modern REST/API architecture.
• Experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform and/or Helm.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices, observability, resiliency, and distributed systems.
• Experience with IBM MQ and modern messaging technologies such as Kafka or equivalent.
• Strong experience with legacy-to-cloud application modernization.
• At least 3+ years of experience in a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Engineering Design role.
• Strong communication, architecture, technical leadership, and team mentoring skills.

• Design and develop custom AI agent pipelines for analyzing and reverse-engineering legacy applications.
• Build and manage multi-agent workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, or equivalent platforms.
• Develop AI agents that analyze COBOL, CICS, IMS, DB2, JCL, and legacy application artifacts.
• Build workflows to extract business rules, data flows, dependencies, domain models, and application relationships from legacy systems.
• Design AI-driven solutions for legacy modernization and application migration.
• Develop forward-engineering workflows that generate Spring Boot services, OpenAPI contracts, MongoDB schemas, Angular components, and automated test suites.
• Implement AI-assisted migration validation and compare modernized application behavior against legacy systems.
• Develop and integrate LLM tools, function calling, RAG, vector retrieval, and structured memory into agent workflows.
• Design human-in-the-loop validation processes to review and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Develop custom tools that allow AI agents to interact with code repositories, databases, APIs, testing frameworks, and development environments.
• Apply strangler-fig, anti-corruption layer, event interception, dual-write, and migration patterns for legacy modernization.
• Lead solution architecture and create LLD documents, sequence diagrams, API designs, architecture diagrams, and ADRs.
• Design and develop cloud-native applications using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Work with MongoDB, Angular/TypeScript, OpenAPI 3.1, JUnit 5, Mockito, MapStruct, and Lombok.
• Design and maintain integration solutions using IBM MQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, or equivalent messaging platforms.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and/or Helm.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Implement automated quality and security gates including testing, SonarQube, dependency scanning, and container security.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams across backend, frontend, AI, data migration, and cloud engineering.
• Conduct code reviews for both human-authored and AI-generated code.
• Establish standards and governance for AI-assisted software development.
• Identify modernization risks including AI hallucination, data consistency, migration gaps, and application performance issues.
• Own technical delivery, sprint commitments, architecture decisions, and modernization outcomes.
• Key Qualifications:
• Strong hands-on experience building Agentic AI / Multi-Agent systems.
• Experience with one or more AI agent frameworks/platforms such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Claude Code, Cursor, or Gemini CLI.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using AI agents for mainframe/COBOL modernization.
• Experience with Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or OpenAI GPT models.
• Experience with MCP/tool integrations and agent development environments.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar observability platforms.
• Experience with Kafka, Azure Service Bus, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience implementing dual-read/dual-write migration strategies.
• Experience with zero-downtime migration and production cutover strategies.
• Experience with SpEL, Drools, or rules-engine technologies for migrating legacy business rules.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, GitOps, and cloud-native DevSecOps.
• Experience developing AI-assisted CI/CD and automated migration validation frameworks.
• Experience working in large enterprise/BFSI environments.
