Senior GIS Programmer/Analyst

Location: Maryland – Maryland candidates only
Work Model: 60% Onsite / 40% Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior GIS Programmer/Analyst to support an Enterprise GIS environment for a government customer. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GIS application development, ArcGIS technologies, programming, database development, reporting, and enterprise-level GIS solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GIS applications within an Enterprise GIS environment.

• Perform code reviews, application planning, documentation, and development.

• Design and develop database solutions to support GIS applications.

• Develop and modify applications using J2EE, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, C#, and Python.

• Work with ESRI ArcGIS technologies, including:

  • ArcGIS Server

  • ArcGIS APIs

  • ArcGIS JavaScript API

  • Esri SDKs

  • ArcSDE

• Develop GIS workflows and applications using ArcGIS Model Builder and Python.

• Write and optimize SQL queries, Triggers, and Stored Procedures.

• Develop business and operational reports using SSRS and Power BI.

• Work with relational databases, including Oracle and SQL Server.

• Analyze requirements and provide technical solutions for GIS-related business needs.

• Prepare technical documentation and support application maintenance and enhancements.

• Communicate effectively with technical teams, business users, and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and modifying applications using:

  • J2EE

  • .NET

  • JavaScript

  • HTML

  • C#

  • Python

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with ESRI ArcGIS technologies.

• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS APIs, ArcGIS JavaScript API, Esri SDKs, and ArcSDE.

• Experience with ArcGIS Model Builder and Python.

• Strong knowledge of SQL, Triggers, and Stored Procedures.

• Experience developing reports using SSRS and Power BI.

• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.

• Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Five years of experience in systems analysis, change management analysis, project management, program analysis, or a closely related field.

• Recent experience working with a government entity.

• Experience supporting enterprise-level GIS environments.
