Job Title: Actuarial Consultant (AXIS)
Location: Remote (Eastern Hours)
Engagement Type: Contract Role 

Leveling:
This role supports three levels, based on years of relevant AXIS conversion/modeling experience, technical expertise, and leadership responsibility:

  • Consultant – 5-7 years: Hands-on experience supporting AXIS conversions, model development, testing, validation, reconciliation, and actuarial data mapping. Expected to independently execute assigned conversion and modeling activities.
  • Senior Consultant / SME – 8-11 years: Advanced AXIS conversion and modeling expertise with the ability to own workstreams, provide subject-matter expertise, lead testing and reconciliation efforts, and partner closely with actuarial, data, and technology teams.
  • Lead / Architect – 12-15+ years: Senior-level AXIS conversion expertise with leadership responsibility for overall build strategy, architecture, testing, reconciliation, modernization initiatives, and delivery. Acts as a key advisor and liaison across actuarial, data, and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Support or lead AXIS conversion build, QA/testing, and reconciliation against legacy CASE and/or Prophet models.
  • Develop AXIS models in Regular Life, Universal Life, and/or Asset modules.
  • Drive actuarial conversion and modernization initiatives.
  • Partner with Actuarial and Data teams to define actuarial data requirements and complete source-to-target mapping between AXIS and administration systems.
  • Perform SQL-based data validation, reconciliation, and analysis across legacy and modernized platforms.
  • Act as the liaison between actuarial, data, and technology teams to ensure alignment and delivery.
  • Depending on level, independently execute assigned workstreams or provide technical leadership and overall conversion strategy.

Required:

  • Hands-on AXIS model development experience.
  • Experience with actuarial model conversions, testing, validation, and reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance and/or annuity products.
  • Experience with actuarial model input data, source-to-target mapping, and data reconciliation.
  • SQL proficiency.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience and responsibilities will be aligned to the appropriate level based on overall years of experience and depth of AXIS conversion expertise.

Preferred:

  • CASE and/or Prophet experience.
  • Experience with OASYS, Vantage, ULA, and/or LifeComm administration systems.
  • Actuarial background with data experience or data background with strong actuarial domain expertise.
