JOIN OUR MISSION TO END HOMELESSNESS
Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. That’s why we provide long-term housing paired with on-site services that promote stability, health, and community. We value lived experience, cultural responsiveness, and approaches grounded in harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, and resident choice.

We look for people who are committed to safety, learning, and continuous improvement — and who bring steady, values-aligned service in moments that are complex or high-stress. We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a trusted advisor to managers, directors, and leadership across the organization. In this role, you will help shape a healthy, effective workplace by supporting employee relations, labor relations, performance management, leave and accommodation matters, and compliance.

You will partner closely with leaders to navigate complex workplace issues, conduct investigations, coach through difficult decisions, and use data to strengthen employee engagement and retention. This is an opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys solving challenging problems, building trusted relationships, and bringing clarity to complex situations. Partner with managers and directors on employee relations, labor relations, policy interpretation, and workplace conflict.

Advise leaders on collective bargaining agreements, union communication, grievance handling, and labor-management collaboration. Coach leaders through performance management, progressive discipline, PIPs, and terminations. Advise on leave administration and accommodations, including FMLA, WA PFML, ADA, and related compliance matters. Support workplace compliance and risk management, including employee relations trends, documentation practices, and confidential case handling.

Analyze workforce data and employee relations trends to help leaders improve retention, consistency, and organizational effectiveness. Builds trust and works respectfully with people from many backgrounds and lived experiences, contributing to safe, welcoming housing communities where residents experience dignity, choice, and belonging. Strong experience in employee relations and labor relations. Ability to coach leaders and translate HR guidance into practical action. Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.

Five or more years of progressive HR experience, with significant employee relations experience. Union experience strongly preferred. Experience with investigations, grievances, leave administration, and performance management. HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred. Plymouth Housing is an equal opportunity employer.

We recruit, hire, train, and promote employees based on merit and business needs, and without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship or immigration status, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), age, marital status, physical, sensory, or mental disability, honorably discharged veteran or military status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
