Job Description
The selected candidate will support the Office of Information Technology by facilitating software development efforts, documenting critical business processes, analyzing current business functions for effectiveness and efficiency opportunities, assisting with process redesign, and supporting development and testing activities.
The role will involve ensuring software development standards are followed and may include analyzing financial systems and related business processes, assisting with business transformation initiatives, and serving as a subject matter expert for applications supporting complex financial business processes. The candidate will contribute to large cross-functional application projects by helping implement robust and scalable solutions.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Lead Developer or Development Manager II.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with development technologies including Azure SQL, SQL Server, Oracle databases, or similar relational databases.
- Highly desired experience with Microsoft Visual Studio/.NET.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work as a developer, facilitator, and subject matter expert for applications and services supporting complex financial business processes on large cross-functional application projects.
- Provide guidance and oversight to Quality Assurance teams on new code from development through integration, staging, and production environments.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems using troubleshooting techniques and collaboration.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including design, roadmap development, process standardization, methodologies, and documentation.
- Collaborate with distributed cross-functional teams to ensure project communication, support, and successful delivery.
- Stay current with software development technologies, trends, and methodologies.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL proficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio/.NET preferred.
- Experience with ORMs, Entity Framework, and n-Hibernate preferred.
- Experience developing and maintaining software systems supporting complex financial business processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
- Strong systems analysis skills with the ability to translate user requirements into business solutions.
- Ability to apply research and best practices for problem avoidance and continuous improvement.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and lead development teams.
- Professional communication skills when working with all levels of management and staff.
