We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Med Surg RN to join our healthcare team.
The Med Surg Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in an acute-care hospital environment, including patient assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, clinical documentation, care coordination, patient education, and monitoring of patients throughout their treatment and recovery.

Registered Nurse Responsibilities
As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN), you will:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, medical histories, and ongoing evaluation of patient conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
- Administer medications, injections, IV medications, and IV infusions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate significant clinical changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Assist with procedures including catheterization, tube feeding, sterile dressing changes, wound care, and other bedside nursing procedures.
- Maintain infection-control standards and appropriate aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals regarding treatment and discharge planning.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medications, post-operative care, pain management, discharge instructions, and recovery.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care while maintaining patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
Med Surg RN Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the assignment state.
- Previous Medical Surgical / Med Surg RN experience in an acute-care hospital or comparable clinical setting.
- Strong patient assessment and medication-administration skills.
- Experience with IV therapy, medication management, wound care, and patient monitoring.
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems, including systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety, and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and patient-education skills.
