Your New Company

Your organisation is a large Federal Government agency delivering a national support system for Australians living with disability. Working in a legislative and regulatory environment, the agency is progressing significant workforce and service delivery reforms designed to improve outcomes for participants.

Your New Role

As the Technical Lead within the Future State Modelling team, you will provide senior technical leadership across workforce modelling, forecasting and analytics. You will combine development, modelling, systems architecture and capability-building expertise to translate complex policy, workforce and operational questions into dependable solutions.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing, building and maintaining workforce modelling, forecasting and analytical solutions that support reform priorities.
• Translating complex workforce, policy and operational challenges into robust, scalable and maintainable technical products.
• Applying advanced problem-solving, solution architecture and development skills within a constrained technology environment.
• Establishing technical standards, documentation, testing, quality assurance and governance practices so products remain transparent and fit for purpose.
• Providing technical leadership through mentoring, knowledge sharing and the development of common modelling practices.
• Producing workforce forecasts, implementation scenarios and analytical insights that support executive decision-making.
• Monitoring emerging issues, managing technical and delivery risks, and adjusting plans to meet changing priorities.

What You Will Need to Succeed

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Advanced experience in workforce modelling, forecasting, analytics, data development or systems architecture.
• A strong record of turning ambiguous business, policy or operational questions into practical analytical solutions.
• Experience developing maintainable technical products, reusable frameworks and clear documentation.
• Well-developed knowledge of testing, quality assurance, governance and risk management practices.
• The ability to work with considerable independence, exercise sound judgement and provide authoritative advice on complex matters.
• Leadership experience that includes mentoring, knowledge sharing and strengthening team capability.

The Logistics

EL1 contract opportunity. Full-time role with hybrid working arrangements. Work may be undertaken in an open-plan, hot-desk and computer-based environment, with occasional work from home.
