Bankruptcy Attorney, Debtor Litigation, Partner or Senior Associate

About the Role

Join an established bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice as a debtor-side bankruptcy litigator. You will handle complex disputes in bankruptcy court and help sustain the practice through a senior partner transition.

What You'll Do

• Lead debtor-side bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, contested matters, and related disputes.

• Manage matters from case strategy through courtroom advocacy and resolution.

• Work with bankruptcy and commercial litigation colleagues to deliver client representation.

• Steward existing client relationships and support the transition of an established caseload.

• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development and long-term practice growth.

What We're Looking For

• Eight or more years of experience in debtor-side bankruptcy litigation, with substantial Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 experience.

• Experience handling adversary proceedings, contested matters, bankruptcy court appearances, and hearings.

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York bar.

• Proficiency with the Bankruptcy Code and Rules, PACER, ECF, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to manage a practice independently, collaborate openly, and maintain client relationships through a partner transition.

• A portable bankruptcy practice and a record of client origination or business development are valued.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $275,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
