Software Development Engineer II

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer II to design, build, and scale edge services for the GCNA-D Edge team. You will develop distributed, high-availability systems that power global AWS customers, using modern programming languages and cloud-native architectures. Responsibilities include end-to-end ownership of services, code reviews, testing, and performance optimization. You will collaborate with product, operations, and security teams, using data to drive decisions in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment focused on innovation and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable edge services for AWS customers
• Develop and maintain distributed, high-availability systems
• Own services end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, and operations
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Improve system performance, reliability, and security using data-driven approaches
• Collaborate with product, operations, and security teams to deliver new features
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing suites
• Monitor production systems and respond to operational issues
• Contribute to architecture decisions and long-term technical roadmaps
• Continuously learn and apply new AWS and cloud technologies
