Head of HR Luxury Retail

Zachary Daniels is delighted to partner exclusively with an established luxury retail business to recruit a Head of HR.

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly regarded luxury brand and lead its people agenda, partnering closely with the Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team.

This is an on-site leadership role based in London, ideally five days a week, although four days would be considered. Regular travel to all 10 shops across the business will be an important part of the role.

This is a broad and influential role where being present really matters. We're looking for someone who wants to get under the skin of the business, spend time with its people and truly understand its culture, while shaping and delivering the longer-term people strategy.

What you'll be doing:

• Acting as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team

• Taking ownership of recruitment, ensuring the business attracts, appoints and retains outstanding talent of the highest calibre

• Developing and delivering a commercially focused people strategy

• Being a visible, approachable and trusted HR presence across the business, with regular visits to all 10 shops to build relationships and understand each team's needs

• Coaching and challenging senior leaders around people, performance and organisational matters

• Managing complex employee relations matters and providing expert UK employment law guidance

• Reviewing and evolving HR policies, processes and ways of working

• Using people insight and data to support commercial decision-making

• Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, from attraction through to exit

• Building and developing the HR function for the future

About you:

You'll already be operating at a Senior HR level and have the confidence and credibility to partner closely with a Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team.

You'll be commercially minded, pragmatic and relationship-led, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with rolling your sleeves up and getting involved when needed.

You'll bring strong generalist HR leadership experience, excellent UK employment law knowledge and experience of complex ER, organisational change and developing people initiatives that support business performance.

Experience within luxury retail, premium retail, hospitality or another high-touch, customer-led environment would be particularly advantageous.
