Systems Engineer - Systems Design Edinburgh TSPV

Systems Engineer

Must have an active Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance.

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid).

- Experience Level: System Design (DESN), Level 5

- Security Clearance: Top Secret Positive Vetting clearance (TSPV) is required to be held and maintained for this role.

- Location of Work: RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia

- Working Arrangements: Hybrid; access to work from home arrangements. Domestic travel as required.

- Maximum Hours: 1,840 hours across 230 days

Job Details

The Systems Engineer will oversee complex integrations across multi-vendor components, manage technical risk and ensure consistent application of design patterns, which is essential to maintaining system resilience and sustainment efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicate complex engineering concepts in clear, actionable terms to senior management, technical leaders, and external partners, shaping organisational understanding and influencing strategic outcomes.
Technical Skills
  • Designs large or complex systems.
  • Undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-off.
Selection Criteria Essential criteria
  • Proven ICT experience in a range of deployment environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the application and integration of Defence Security Principles.
  • Demonstrated network architectural knowledge and application.
  • Awareness of Geospatial products and end-uses.
  • Extensive Defence experience.
