Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting the company's day-to-day accounting operations. Staff Accountant Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
  • Prepare and record journal entries and adjusting entries
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Record financial transactions accurately and ensure proper documentation
  • Review financial records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation
  • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules, as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
