Strategic IT Consultant - Remote / Dorset - Negotiable Rate

We're supporting an organisation undergoing a period of digital and technology change and are looking for an experienced Strategic IT Consultant to provide independent oversight and guidance on a part-time temporary basis.

This is a flexible opportunity suited to someone who has experience supporting technology transformations, operating model changes, or managed service transitions. You may come from a consultancy background or have worked within an MSP environment and understand the challenges of managing technology services from the customer side.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic advice and independent oversight across IT services
• Support technology strategy, operating model, and transformation planning
• Oversee service providers, performance, governance, and delivery
• Identify technology risks and support resilience and business continuity
• Provide senior stakeholders with clear updates, insight, and recommendations
• Support the transition to new technology service arrangements

Requirements:

• Proven experience within IT consultancy, digital transformation, or technology leadership
• Experience overseeing technology change, outsourcing, or managed service transitions
• Strong understanding of supplier and service management
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and challenging constructively
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial and analytical skills
• Able to work independently and provide objective advice

What's on Offer:

• Initial 6-month temporary assignment
• 1-2 days per week initially, reducing as the assignment progresses
• Remote working with ad-hoc travel to Dorset
• Negotiable day rate
• Flexible working arrangement suited to an experienced IT professional or consultant
