Cybersecurity Integration and Test Engineer

Project Introduction

The Department of Veterans Affairs Cybersecurity Operations and Services Enterprise (COSE) program delivers the enterprise cybersecurity operations, engineering, architecture, risk, and compliance support that safeguards VA systems, data, and mission delivery. The team helps strengthen the cyber resilience of the digital services relied on by Veterans, their families, and the VA workforce.

9th Way Insignia is seeking a Cybersecurity Integration and Test Engineer to support this program. This position is contingent upon contract award.

E3 – Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute security integration, interoperability, functional, and regression testing for systems and security tools.
• Develop test plans, test cases, test data, procedures, and traceability artifacts.
• Validate security requirements and control implementation across interfaces, APIs, networks, applications, and cloud services.
• Document defects, coordinate root-cause analysis, and verify corrective actions through retesting.
• Support release readiness reviews, test reporting, and production-acceptance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Five or more years of systems integration, test engineering, quality assurance, cybersecurity engineering, or related experience.
• Experience with test planning, defect tracking, requirements traceability, and integration or end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with security controls, secure interfaces, APIs, cloud services, and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
