Senior Configuration Management Manager - Federal IT

GovCIO LLC seeks a Sr. Configuration Manager to lead configuration, change, and release management across complex federal IT programs. You will define and maintain CM plans, baselines, and version control, ensuring traceability across agile software, cloud, and infrastructure environments. Partnering closely with development, cybersecurity, and operations teams, you'll manage CI/CD pipelines, oversee audits, and support compliance with federal standards, while mentoring junior staff and driving continuous improvement in tools, automation, and CM best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead configuration, change, and release management processes for federal IT programs
• Develop, maintain, and enforce configuration management plans and policies
• Establish and manage configuration baselines, item identification, and version control
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and coordinate releases with development and operations teams
• Ensure traceability of requirements, changes, and releases across agile projects
• Conduct configuration audits and support federal compliance and security requirements
• Evaluate and implement CM tools, automation, and process improvements
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure teams on integrated CM practices
• Produce and maintain CM documentation, reports, and metrics for stakeholders
• Mentor junior configuration staff and champion CM best practices across programs
