About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a leading North American distribution and e-commerce organization to identify a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer. This role will support the development of high-quality software solutions that power large-scale business operations, distribution networks, and customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will be passionate about test automation, software quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced technology environment.

Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions that enhance the quality, reliability, and performance of web, mobile, and API-based applications. Working closely with software engineers, product teams, and IT stakeholders, you will help establish testing best practices and drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web, API, and mobile applications using modern automation tools and technologies.
Develop automated test scripts using JavaScript, TypeScript, and related frameworks.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and technical teams to define testing strategies, create test cases, and improve application reliability.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid feedback.
Execute automated and manual test plans, analyze results, and partner with development teams to troubleshoot defects.
Monitor test execution, track quality metrics, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Create and maintain documentation for test frameworks, test cases, and quality assurance processes.
Provide recommendations to improve software quality, testing efficiency, and release readiness.

Qualifications
Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Automation Engineering or software test automation.
Hands-on experience developing automated test frameworks and test scripts for web, API, and/or mobile applications.
Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, TestComplete, or similar technologies.
Strong knowledge of API testing, SQL, Git, and Agile software development methodologies.
Experience integrating automated testing within CI/CD environments using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
Ability to analyze defects, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document testing processes and results.

Preferred

Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications within distribution, logistics, e-commerce, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
Exposure to cloud-based development and testing environments.
Experience with test management and quality tracking tools.
Knowledge of performance, regression, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous quality engineering principles.
Relevant software testing or quality assurance certifications.
