Onsite | Monday–Friday | 7.5-hour workday

We are seeking a Microbiologist with hands-on experience in PCR testing and RNA/DNA extraction to perform molecular testing of wastewater and water samples in a public health laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform wastewater and water sample preparation, concentration, and processing.
• Perform RNA extraction, DNA extraction, and PCR molecular testing.
• Analyze, interpret, validate, and document laboratory results.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and testing documentation.
• Perform quality control (QC) checks on testing methods, materials, and equipment.
• Support laboratory reporting and evaluation of environmental testing methods.
• Follow laboratory safety, certification, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Biological Science or a related field.
• Hands-on professional experience with PCR testing.
• Hands-on professional experience with RNA and/or DNA extraction.
• Knowledge of molecular biology, molecular testing principles, and laboratory procedures.
• Experience analyzing and documenting laboratory test results.
• Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN.

Preferred Background

Experience with wastewater testing, water testing, environmental microbiology, public health laboratory testing, molecular diagnostics, or SARS-CoV-2 testing is a plus.
