Job Description

Role: Systems Engineer
Contract Length: 4 Months Contract
Location: Denver, CO
Role Summary:
Client is looking for two contract IT Systems Engineers to join the Broadcast Engineering team onsite at the Denver location. This role supports the on-site and cloud infrastructure behind Origination and Channel Delivery — covering day-to-day systems administration, automation, and security and compliance work as part of a broader infrastructure support function.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded systems engineer who is equally comfortable administering Linux and Windows environments, scripting and automating routine tasks, and working through vulnerability remediation and compliance documentation. Strong communication and disciplined change management are essential in this live broadcast environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, patch, harden, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems supporting Origination and Channel Delivery infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain automation for routine administration, patching, and configuration tasks using Ansible/AWX, Bash, Python, and/or PowerShell.
  • Use Git for version control of scripts, playbooks, and configuration artifacts.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified through scanning tools and track findings through to closure.
  • Interpret vulnerability scan results, support control requirements, and maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence.
  • Work within tools such as Qualys, CrowdStrike, Splunk, and CCM to monitor system health and compliance status.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on incidents and system issues, documenting findings clearly for the broader team.
  • Follow disciplined change management processes and coordinate effectively across on-site and cloud teams.
  • Support secure configuration of on-site and cloud (AWS) infrastructure as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
Linux and Windows Fundamentals
  • Systems administration, patching, hardening, troubleshooting, and secure configuration across Linux and Windows platforms.
Automation and Tools
  • Working knowledge of Ansible/AWX, Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Proficiency with Git for source and configuration control.
Security and Compliance
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation and familiarity with common control requirements.
  • Ability to interpret vulnerability scan output and produce audit documentation.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Qualys, CrowdStrike, Splunk, and CCM.
Communication and Problem-Solving
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills and clear, concise technical documentation.
  • Disciplined adherence to change management processes and effective cross-team coordination.
Nice to Have
  • AWS cloud experience, including VPCs, security groups, DNS, and related networking/security constructs.
