Role: SAP MM Solution Architect – S/4HANA, PLM, Manufacturing / Semiconductor / High-Tech Industrial
Location: Fremont, CA (Onsite/Hybrid)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM Solution Architect to provide solution architecture and functional leadership for Material Master across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of how Material Master impacts end-to-end business processes and be capable of assessing the downstream impact of business, process, data-model, integration, and system changes.

This is primarily an architecture and solution-design role, rather than a data migration or pure SAP MDG position.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and provide solution architecture for SAP Material Master within an SAP S/4HANA environment.
• Demonstrate strong end-to-end understanding of Material Master and its impact across:
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
  • Order-to-Cash (O2C)
  • Source-to-Pay / Sourcing
  • Manufacturing
  • Planning / MRP
  • Inventory Management
  • Supply Chain
  • Finance and other downstream processes
• Analyze new business requirements and determine:
  • Required Material Master changes.
  • Impacted business processes.
  • Affected applications and interfaces.
  • Downstream dependencies.
  • Required architectural changes.
• Define and evaluate Material Master data models, processes, integrations, and interfaces.
• Assess enterprise-wide impacts before approving or recommending architectural changes.
• Understand Material Master integration with PLM systems, particularly Teamcenter or similar platforms.
• Understand Material Master data flows from PLM to SAP S/4HANA.
• Analyze integration architecture, interfaces, data flows, and potential challenges between PLM and SAP.
• Collaborate with SAP, PLM, business, integration, and application teams to identify appropriate solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance and best-practice recommendations to business and technical teams.
• Support implementation teams by translating business requirements into practical SAP Material Master solutions.
• Help establish and standardize Material Master governance and operating processes within a centralized data organization.
• Work directly with business users to improve their understanding and effective use of Material Master.
• Train and educate business users on Material Master processes, standards, and best practices.
• Provide technical and functional leadership while supporting the transition toward a centralized Material Master operating model.

Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills

SAP

• Strong SAP MM experience.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA experience.
• Deep expertise in Material Master.
• Strong understanding of Material Master configuration, data models, processes, and dependencies.
• Ability to perform end-to-end impact analysis for Material Master changes.
• Strong understanding of SAP integration with other enterprise applications.

PLM / Integration

• Experience working with PLM systems.
• Strong understanding of PLM-to-SAP Material Master integration.
• Teamcenter experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to understand data and interface flows between PLM and SAP.
• Experience analyzing integration points, interfaces, data mappings, and integration challenges.

Solution Architecture

• Strong solution architecture experience beyond functional SAP execution.
• Ability to understand the enterprise-wide impact of architectural decisions.
• Experience defining solution options and recommending appropriate architectures.
• Ability to connect business requirements across Material Master, SAP, PLM, integrations, and downstream enterprise systems.

Business Process Knowledge

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of how Material Master influences end-to-end enterprise processes including procurement, sourcing, manufacturing, planning, inventory management, supply chain, order management, and finance.
