Job Description

Wettermark Keith is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and legal team. This position plays an important role in keeping cases organized, deadlines on track, and clients informed and supported throughout the legal process.

The ideal candidate is professional, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced law firm environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and follow through on tasks are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous assistance to clients, visitors, vendors, and callers
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls
  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and the legal team
  • Draft routine correspondence, letters, memoranda, and legal documents as directed
  • Open, organize, and maintain client and case files
  • Prepare and send notices of representation to insurance adjusters and other relevant parties
  • Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, court personnel, opposing counsel, and internal team members
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files
  • Track deadlines and follow up on outstanding items to help ensure matters remain on schedule
  • Assist with case-related administrative tasks and special projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the attorneys and department

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous legal assistant, legal secretary, or law firm administrative experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other general office systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including grammar, spelling, formatting, and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional and courteous demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
