Job Description

Role Summary
A Network Services Manager position responsible for overseeing extensive enterprise network operations supporting over 12,000 end users across more than 200 sites. This senior-level role involves leading a team of federal staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure continuous delivery of secure, compliant, and modernized network services. The position requires strategic planning, incident management, and collaboration with federal leadership to meet mission-critical objectives in a complex federal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day network operations, ensuring adherence to SLAs and service continuity across diverse technical teams.
  • Lead incident triage, problem resolution, and removal of operational blockers to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Develop and enforce problem management processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee change control procedures, including CAB readiness, back-out planning, and success criteria validation.
  • Collaborate with security teams on vulnerability remediation, configuration baselines, and incident response aligned with Zero Trust architecture.
  • Plan, design, implement, and optimize network solutions including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, VPN, firewalls, and cloud connectivity (AWS and Azure).
  • Lead integrated delivery efforts with federal staff, contractors, and vendors, setting expectations and coaching team leads for accountability and attention to detail.
  • Develop project schedules, identify risks, allocate resources, and drive ongoing service improvements.
  • Support acquisition activities such as requirements gathering, vendor evaluations, and cost estimation in compliance with agency standards.
  • Provide regular executive updates on operational status, risks, strategic initiatives, and compliance with federal security standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years managing enterprise IT/network operations or projects, with at least 5 years leading network services within a federal environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Demonstrated success in incident management, operational enforcement, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience managing hybrid network architectures (data center and cloud), including SD-WAN, VPN, firewall management, and cloud interconnects (AWS/Azure).
  • Proven ability to lead technical staff, subcontractors, and multiple task orders across distributed sites supporting large user bases.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and management platforms such as SolarWinds.
  • Strong customer interface skills, with experience engaging senior federal leadership and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Relevant certifications: PMP (PMI), ITIL v4, and CCIE or CCNP with extensive enterprise networking experience.

Publishing Pay Range: $41.00 – $46.00 hourly
