Automotive Electrical Technician – BMS & Zonal ECU Testing
Location: Irvine, CA 92606 — Onsite

Job Overview
We are looking for an Automotive Electrical Technician to support bench-level testing and validation of Battery Management System (BMS) and Zonal ECUs. This role will focus on electrical testing, troubleshooting, ECU validation, and issue diagnosis within automotive electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment, electrical schematics, ECU testing, and automotive communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bench-level testing and validation of automotive ECUs, with a focus on BMS and Zonal ECUs.
- Set up and operate electrical test benches, laboratory equipment, and validation systems.
- Execute functional and electrical tests and document test results, defects, and observations.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic test equipment, and log analyzers.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
- Perform electrical measurements, signal checks, and basic board-level troubleshooting.
- Support ECU flashing, configuration, integration, and validation activities.
- Assist engineering teams with root-cause analysis and corrective actions for test failures.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, firmware, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate test records, documentation, and validation reports.
- Support regression testing for new ECU software and hardware releases.
- Follow established automotive quality, safety, and testing procedures.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with HiL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing or automotive test benches.
- Familiarity with CANoe, CANalyzer, or CAPL.
- Knowledge of PCBA, ECU hardware validation, and board-level debugging.
- Exposure to automotive communication protocols such as CAN/CAN FD, LIN, or Ethernet.
- Basic knowledge of Python or test automation.
- Experience working with automotive electrical/electronic systems and validation processes.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in automotive electrical/electronics testing or ECU validation.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, and related lab equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues at the bench level.
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong understanding of basic electrical and electronics principles.
- Good communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Irvine, CA.
