Job Description

Service Engineer
Kettering / Leicester / Newark region
£45,000 - £47,000 DOE + Company Van & Fuel
Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

We are recruiting a Service Engineer to cover customers across the Kettering, Leicester and Newark region, working for a manufacturer and supplier of industrial packaging machinery.

This is a home-based field role, travelling directly to customer sites to install, service, repair and commission machinery. You'll have a scheduled workload and will only need to travel to the company's head office periodically to collect parts, restock the van or when otherwise required.

Packaging machinery experience would be useful, but it isn't essential. We're much more interested in someone who has worked hands-on with industrial machinery and has strong electrical fault-finding skills alongside a good mechanical understanding.

Service Engineer Responsibilities
- Installing, servicing, repairing and commissioning machinery at customer sites
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical breakdowns and working towards a first-time fix
- Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance
- Supporting customers with machinery and process optimisation
- Training operators following new machine installations
- Working with a range of industrial packaging equipment
- Identifying additional service, consumable or machinery requirements where appropriate
- Completing service documentation and maintaining a well-stocked company vehicle

Service Engineer Experience
- Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar working with industrial machinery
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good mechanical knowledge
- Experience with packaging, bottling, processing, production or similar machinery would transfer well
- Hydraulics experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing directly with customers
- Full UK driving licence
