Job Description

SAAB is seeking an Import/Export Compliance Officer to manage trade compliance for our advanced defense and security products. In this role, you will interpret and apply U.S. and international export/import regulations (ITAR, EAR), classify products, screen transactions, and prepare license applications and customs documentation. You will partner with engineering, supply chain, and legal teams to design compliant processes, train employees, conduct internal audits, and resolve findings. This position supports complex, global programs and helps ensure Saab's technologies are transferred safely, lawfully, and on time across international borders.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply ITAR, EAR, and other trade regulations to Saab products and programs
  • Classify products, technologies, and services for export/import and maintain master data
  • Prepare, submit, and manage export licenses, permits, and related authorizations
  • Oversee customs documentation, recordkeeping, and clearance for global shipments
  • Conduct restricted party screening and transaction due diligence
  • Develop and deliver trade compliance training to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and legal on compliant processes and contracts
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update internal policies and procedures
  • Perform internal audits, investigate potential violations, and support corrective actions
  • Liaise with government agencies and external brokers as needed
