Role: Finance Testing Lead
Location: Irving, TX
Visa: Open from H1B to USC
Rate: 55-60/hr. on C2C
Experience level: 10+ Years of experience
 
Position Summary
  • The Finance Testing Lead owns the test strategy and execution for all finance scope on the ARC program — from test planning and scenario design through SIT, UAT, regression, and go-live validation. This role is accountable for a defensible answer to a simplequestion: can Finance close the books on the new platform?
  • The role leads a mixed team of functional testers, business users, and offshore QA resources, and works shoulder to shoulder with FICO analysts, data teams, and process owners to ensure defects are found in the test cycle rather than in the first close.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Planning
  • Define the finance test strategy and test plans across unit, string, system integration, user acceptance, regression, performance, and period-end validation cycles.
  • Build traceability from business requirements and process design through test scenarios, test cases, and executed results; own coverage reporting and sign-off evidence.
  • Establish entry and exit criteria, defect severity definitions, and go/no-go recommendation criteria for each test phase.
  • Plan test data requirements in partnership with the data workstream, including converted balances, master data, and multi-entity intercompany scenarios.
  • Test Execution & Defect Management
  • Lead day-to-day execution of finance test cycles: daily stand-ups, execution tracking, blocker resolution, and cycle burn-down reporting.
  • Own the defect lifecycle — triage, severity assignment, root-cause classification, assignment, retest, and closure — and chair defect triage forums with functional and technical leads.
  • Drive end-to-end process testing across finance and adjacent modules (procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report) including interfaces to Ariba, Concur, Workday, banking, and reporting layers.
  • Coordinate mock close and period-end simulation cycles; validate close calendar tasks, reconciliations, allocations, and financial reporting output.
  • UAT & Business Enablement
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and support business testers from Controllership, FP&A, Shared Services, and Business Unit finance teams.
  • Run UAT logistics: script assignment, floor-walking support, progress reporting, and sign-off collection from process owners.
  • Validate SOX-relevant application controls and segregation of duties in the test environment; produce audit-ready test evidence.
  • Reporting & Governance
  • Provide clear, honest test status reporting to program leadership, including candid risk assessment where quality is not where it needs to be.
  • Contribute to cutover and hypercare planning, including post-go-live validation scripts and first-close support.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test practice, automation opportunities, and reusable regression suites for the run state.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent experience, and typically 8+ years of relevant experience in ERP testing or finance systems quality assurance, including test lead accountability on at least one large program.
Critical Skills
  • 8+ years in ERP testing, with demonstrated test lead ownership of finance scope on an SAP implementation or upgrade.
  • Strong functional knowledge of SAP FI/CO processes: GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, cost accounting, intercompany, and period-end close.
  • Proven ability to author risk-based test scenarios that reflect real business process flows, not just transaction-level scripts.
  • Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools: SAP Solution Manager, Tricentis (Tosca/qTest), Jira, Xray, ALM/Octane, or Azure DevOps.
  • Demonstrated experience running UAT with non-technical business users and driving sign-off to schedule.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder skills, with the credibility to escalate quality risk to senior leadership.
Additional Skills & Knowledge (Preferred)
  • S/4HANA conversion or greenfield testing experience; experience validating converted financial balances.
  • Test automation experience, particularly Tricentis Tosca or Worksoft Certify for SAP regression.
  • SOX and internal controls testing background; ITawareness.
  • Experience testing SAC, BPC, Group Reporting, or Power BI financial reporting layers.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification; Agile/SAFe delivery experience.
  • Healthcare or multi-entity, high-transaction-volume environment experience.
  • Experience managing offshore or blended test teams across time zones.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
