A Civil Engineer (EIT) with Houston Engineering Inc. will spend time in the field working on outdoor construction phase activities as well as a variety of in-office projects assisting engineers. Engineering projects range from complex grade separation projects and large bridges spanning a river with architectural enhancements to box culverts for a rural township over a small ditch.
We are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our team in our Sioux Falls office. This role is intended for an individual with 0-3 years of prior experience.
- Assist with plan specifications and estimates as well as documenting construction activities.
- Assist with AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings and update redlines with various project set drawings.
- Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.
- Perform work in a variety of software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, etc.
- Potential observation and data collection at different types of project sites.
- Assist with research, development and design of projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- 0-3 years of experience in Civil Engineering
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and ArcGIS is helpful.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, and clients.
- Superior task management skills, including scheduling, prioritizing, following up, and keeping project information organized.
- Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
