Job Description:
Logging & Monitoring Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Logging & Monitoring Engineer to support the day-to-day operation, reliability, and continued evolution of enterprise logging and telemetry platforms.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role supporting Cribl, Elastic, and Corelight environments. The engineer will help onboard new data sources, maintain healthy telemetry pipelines, troubleshoot ingestion and data-quality issues, and ensure reliable delivery of security and operational data across a large enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise logging, monitoring, or security telemetry platforms and is comfortable working across logging pipelines, infrastructure, operating systems, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, operate, and monitor enterprise log and telemetry pipelines using Cribl, including data routing, filtering, and transformations.
  • Support Elastic environments by onboarding new log sources, validating data quality, troubleshooting ingestion issues, and performing routine platform maintenance.
  • Assist with the deployment, operation, and monitoring of Corelight sensors to support reliable network telemetry ingestion.
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end logging and data-pipeline issues involving data flow, parsing, transport, ingestion, and data quality.
  • Perform routine operational activities, including platform upgrades, configuration changes, capacity monitoring, and documentation updates.
  • Partner with Security Operations, Infrastructure, and Application teams to support log-onboarding requests and resolve telemetry or data gaps.
  • Monitor platform health and address issues related to throughput, latency, data availability, and pipeline performance.
  • Follow established change-management procedures, operational standards, and escalation processes.
  • Maintain and improve operational documentation, procedures, and runbooks to support consistent platform operations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and technical teams to improve the reliability and effectiveness of enterprise detection and monitoring capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise logging, monitoring, observability, or security telemetry platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Cribl, including log routing, pipeline configuration, filtering, transformations, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Elastic / Elasticsearch environments, including log-source onboarding, troubleshooting, and operational maintenance.
  • Exposure to Corelight or similar network telemetry / Network Detection and Response technologies.
  • Strong Linux and Windows system administration fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of scripting and automation using technologies such as Python and/or Bash.
  • Experience supporting platforms within cloud, hybrid, or large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of monitoring and telemetry concepts, including data health, throughput, latency, ingestion, and alerting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to follow data through multiple stages of a logging or telemetry pipeline.
  • Ability to work effectively across security, infrastructure, application, and engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting enterprise Security Operations or detection engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with security telemetry, log-management, SIEM, observability, or network monitoring technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting data parsing, transformation, and ingestion issues across distributed environments.
  • Experience using scripting or automation to streamline routine platform operations.
  • Familiarity with enterprise change-management and production-support processes.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you'll help ensure that critical security and operational telemetry is reliable, complete, and available to the teams that depend on it. You'll work directly with the technologies behind enterprise logging and monitoring while partnering with experienced engineers to improve platform stability, troubleshoot complex data-flow issues, and continuously strengthen logging and telemetry operations.
