Contract: 12-month contract likely extension
Rate: Up to £80/hr (Inside IR35)
Location: Southern England
Hybrid: On-site 3 days/week

The brief

An FPGA Engineer is wanted for an aerospace project. You'll take designs from requirements to working silicon: architecture, VHDL, simulation, implementation and hardware bring-up. If you like owning the whole lifecycle and chasing bugs down to the waveform, this is for you.

What you'll do

• Own the full FPGA lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through VHDL RTL, synthesis and place-and-route to on-target validation
• Build and run simulation testbenches in ModelSim/QuestaSim to prove designs before they hit hardware
• Debug in simulation and on real boards, isolating timing, CDC, logic and integration faults
• Write design documentation fit for high-assurance programmes
• Work with systems, hardware and software engineers to integrate FPGA functionality into the wider platform
• Contribute to design reviews and sharpen engineering process

What you need

• VHDL: strong, production-grade RTL
• Vendor toolchains: Xilinx, Altera or Microsemi
• Full lifecycle FPGA design and development
• ModelSim / QuestaSim for simulation and verification
