Job Description

Job Title: Enterprise Architect (Defence Procurement)

Security Clearance: Mandatory NV1 or NV2 Clearance

Position Overview

The Enterprise Architect will lead the strategic design, governance, and optimization of our enterprise-level architecture, focusing on the systems and capability landscapes that support large-scale Defence procurement. Operating within a complex federal ecosystem, you will define the future-state blueprints, roadmaps, and architectural standards that align business strategy with technical delivery.

This is a pure architecture and strategy role. The successful candidate must possess deep Enterprise Architecture experience within the Defence sector, coupled with a strong architectural understanding of procurement systems. To ensure enterprise blueprints are comprehensive, a high-level conceptual knowledge of how Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and Export Controls interface with the broader Defence enterprise is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and govern the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring all business, data, application, and technology layers align with Defence strategy and federal standards.
  • Develop future-state roadmaps and blueprints that optimise the efficiency, security, and scalability of the Defence procurement system landscape.
  • Provide strategic architectural governance and lead Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) to evaluate new technology investments and minimise technical debt.
Procurement Domain & Capability Integration
  • Architect end-to-end system interactions that support strategic sourcing, complex purchasing workflows, and commercial delivery.
  • Ensure enterprise designs conceptually accommodate the data flows and compliance guardrails required for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and Export Controls (e.g., ITAR/EAR data segregation).
  • Collaborate with solution architects and business analysts to translate high-level commercial strategies into robust, secure ecosystem models.
Stakeholder Management & Advisory
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior executives and program directors, translating complex technology landscapes into business outcomes.
  • Influence and negotiate architectural outcomes across diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, security accreditation bodies, and business owners.
Mandatory Eligibility Requirements
  • Security Vetting: Must hold a current and active NV1 or NV2 National Security Clearance sponsored by AGSVA.
Key Capabilities & Experience
  • Enterprise Architecture Mastery: Proven track record in establishing enterprise-level frameworks, strategic roadmaps, and governance structures using industry standards (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF).
  • Procurement Ecosystem Knowledge: Experience designing or governing architectures that support large-scale corporate, government, or Defence procurement systems.
  • Enterprise Domain Awareness: Conceptual understanding of how ILS, FMS, and Export Controls function within a Defence ecosystem, ensuring blueprints account for these operational and data realities.
  • Strategic Communication: Strong ability to engage at the executive level, articulate architectural visions, and drive alignment across complex federal programs.
