Senior AI Engineer - Generative AI | Financial Services | London

6 month contract | £850 - £900 per day inside IR35

We are looking for an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join a leading global financial services organisation, helping to design and deliver Generative AI applications across the EMEA region.

This is a hands-on engineering role working across GenAI, LLMs, cloud and enterprise technology. You will build production-grade AI solutions, including RAG and agentic AI applications, while working closely with architecture, cloud, engineering and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-ready Generative AI and LLM applications
• Build RAG pipelines and agentic AI solutions
• Develop, fine-tune and optimise LLM-based applications
• Develop solutions using Python and modern GenAI frameworks
• Develop and implement prompt engineering strategies
• Integrate LLMs with enterprise applications, APIs and data sources
• Build and deploy AI solutions within Azure and/or AWS
• Implement CI/CD and MLOps practices for AI applications
• Develop and deploy APIs and integration services
• Monitor and optimise AI application and model performance
• Work with cloud and architecture teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable
• Guide development teams through implementation, testing and deployment
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers

Key Skills & Profile

• Strong Python development experience
• Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI/LLM applications
• Deep expertise in RAG and Prompt Engineering
• Experience building agentic AI solutions
• Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph and/or Microsoft Agents SDK
• Strong knowledge of Azure OpenAI and related Azure AI services
• Experience with CI/CD and MLOps for AI
• Knowledge of LLM integration patterns including MCP and A2A
• Experience developing and integrating APIs
• Exposure to Azure services such as AI Search, Cognitive Services, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Functions and Container Apps
• Experience integrating on-premise and cloud environments
• Strong understanding of Secure by Design principles
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated enterprise environment would be highly advantageous
