The Role

This role is the pathway to become a General Manager at Blank Street.

You will support the Operations Manager/General Manager in running a high-performing Blank Street store day to day — and to build the skills, judgement, and leadership required to become a future General Manager. As an AGM, you are the right hand to your OM/GM. You own the floor, are passionate about hospitality and uphold the highest standards.

You lead from the front on shift, coach the team in real time, and help turn your store into a benchmark of retail excellence — while learning how to run the full store through hands-on exposure to people leadership, operational rhythm, and commercial decision-making.

Who You Are

You are a hospitality-first operator who holds a high bar for standards and brings positive energy to every shift. You’re confident leading the floor in high-volume moments, and you’re excited to develop into a General Manager, growing your leadership and operational capability through learning by doing, with support and coaching from your OM/GM.

  • Nurture the next generation of Blank Street leaders, while ensuring those here for the shorter term feel developed and invested in.
  • Help build a positive, engaged team culture through recognition, consistency, and strong communication.

PnL Owner

  • Design each shift by station with precision, balancing labour productivity with demand.
  • Support labour productivity through strong deployment and rhythm.
  • Build commercial awareness: understand key drivers (labour, waste, sales) and how shift execution impacts results.
  • Support inventory discipline and waste reduction through great daily habits (rotation, standards, counts) under GM/OM guidance.

Change Maker

  • Spot inefficiencies and propose practical fixes; help implement improvements that stick.
  • Land initiatives well on shift: explain the “why”, coach the “how”, and reinforce until it becomes habit.
  • Bring solutions: surface issues, propose small improvements, and help test/roll out changes with GM/OM alignment.

  • Experience leading shifts in a high-volume stores
  • At least 6 months tenure at Blank Street, 3 months as a Shift Leader
  • Strong standards mindset with comfort giving clear, kind feedback.
