Mulitskilled Engineer
Location: Ashbourne
Hours: 4 on 4 off 6-6

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to help keep our manufacturing operation running at peak performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

As a key member of the Engineering team, you will provide both reactive and planned maintenance support, ensuring equipment reliability, maximising production uptime, and contributing to site performance targets.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across site equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Supporting production by minimising downtime and ensuring machinery performs to specification.
  • Using SAP PM to record maintenance activities, labour, and parts usage.
  • Driving equipment reliability and OEE improvements through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with production, engineering leadership, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensuring all maintenance documentation is completed accurately.
  • Supporting machine training and operational best practice where required.
  • Following site Health & Safety, hygiene, permit-to-work, and technical handback procedures.
  • Assisting with installation, modification, and improvement projects.
  • Promoting environmental sustainability through waste reduction and recycling initiatives.

Essential

  • Level 3 City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • UK-recognised engineering qualifications.
  • Time-served apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 6 months' experience working as a qualified Engineer following apprenticeship completion.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to Health & Safety standards.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workload.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Previous manufacturing environment experience.
  • Food manufacturing or food processing experience.
  • PLC fault-finding experience.
  • Welding experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • SAP PM experience.
  • Competent Microsoft Outlook user.
  • 17th/18th Edition qualification (or equivalent).
  • COSHH awareness.
  • Food Safety Level 2 qualification.
