Job Description
Intern The Technology Intern gains hands-on experience supporting meaningful projects across enterprise technology, cybersecurity, data, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, investment technology, operations, and/or client-focused functions. During the 10-week program, interns work alongside technical and business teams to solve real challenges, document requirements, analyze information, improve processes, and contribute to reliable technology solutions. Interns are introduced to modern tools and delivery practices while strengthening skills in problem solving, communication, collaboration, documentation, analytics, automation, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. The experience also helps interns understand how technology enables client service, operational excellence, risk reduction, innovation, and business growth within the financial services industry. Structured onboarding, professional development, networking, mentorship, leadership exposure, and cohort activities complement each intern's day-to-day project work. Key Responsibilities and Duties

Corporate Technology Data & AI Office - interns will have the unique opportunity to explore a wide range of technology and data-driven applications while making a tangible impact across TIAA. Key Responsibilities:
Global Cybersecurity & Fraud Management - responsible for keeping pace with the ever-changing threat landscape and handling the identification and remediation of information technology risks. Global Cybersecurity is responsible for effectively detecting, responding to, and mitigating computer security incidents, and managing the security technology that safeguards the company's information assets from cybersecurity threats and attacks. Key Responsibilities:
Nuveen Technology - Nuveen Technology is the technology team supporting Nuveen, TIAA's global asset management business. The team uses technology, data, and digital solutions to help investment professionals manage portfolios, analyze markets, serve clients, and operate the business efficiently. Interns may have opportunities to work on areas such as software development, data and analytics, applications, or technology infrastructure. You'll collaborate with both technology professionals and business partners, giving you exposure to how technology supports the investment and financial services industry. It's a great fit for students who want to see how technology, finance, and innovation come together.
Retirement & Insurance Solutions Technology
The Retirement Solutions team partners across the enterprise to build and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap that supports TIAA's retirement business. The team strengthens core functions, platforms, products, and digital capabilities while continually driving operational efficiencies. Their work is guided by key business priorities, including deepening engagement with consultants and advisors, embedding lifetime income solutions into default plan offerings, securing recordkeeping relationships, and growing participant assets through advice-driven services.
By modernizing technology infrastructure and championing enterprise-wide collaboration, the team plays a central role in advancing TIAA's mission of delivering lifetime income to participants while enhancing operational excellence across the organization.
