Senior Service Designer - Public Sector Discovery

SATIGO is seeking an experienced Senior Service Designer to support a high-profile discovery programme within the UK public sector. The engagement will focus on understanding complex service interactions, stakeholder needs and operational challenges associated with a developing regulatory framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead service design activities throughout the discovery life cycle.

• Map existing service journeys, stakeholder interactions and wider service ecosystems.

• Work collaboratively with user researchers, business analysts and policy stakeholders.

• Identify service barriers, operational constraints, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.

• Develop service blueprints, journey maps and other discovery artefacts.

• Facilitate workshops with internal teams and external industry stakeholders.

• Translate research findings into clear service design insights and recommendations.

• Support evidence-based decisions on future service improvements and potential next phases.

Essential Experience

• Extensive service design experience within UK Central Government, regulators or public sector organisations.

• Proven experience leading GDS-aligned discovery phases for public-facing services.

• Strong service blueprinting, journey mapping and systems-thinking capabilities.

• Experience working across complex services involving multiple stakeholders and organisations.

• Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile teams.

• Ability to engage senior policy, operational and technical stakeholders.

• Experience delivering discovery work in ambiguous or evolving policy environments.
