Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise Java development to support a major banking client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, SQL, and cloud technologies, along with experience developing highly scalable and secure applications within the banking or financial services industry.
The candidate will work closely with architects, product owners, business analysts, and other engineering teams to design, develop, enhance, and maintain mission-critical backend applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise banking applications.
  • Participate in application architecture, technical design, and code reviews.
  • Develop high-performance, reliable, and secure backend services.
  • Work with relational databases and write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database integrations.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and cloud-based applications.
  • Implement appropriate security, authentication, authorization, logging, and monitoring practices.
  • Write unit and integration tests and ensure high code quality and test coverage.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the development team.
  • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, and banking industry standards.
Required Skills
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+.
  • Extensive experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience developing REST APIs and Microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
  • Strong SQL and relational database experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
  • Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.
  • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks.
  • Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar DevOps tools.
  • Good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in AWS, Azure, or another major cloud platform.
  • Strong understanding of application security and secure coding practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
