Job Description

We are looking for Sr. Java Backend Developer - Hybrid for our client in Toronto ON.

Job Title: Sr. Java Backend Developer

Job Location: Toronto ON

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Requirement/Must Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Strong working knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
  • Extensive experience with REST APIs and Microservices Architecture design.
  • Experience working with databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Messaging Technology such as Kafka or MQ.
  • Proven ability to build containerized applications.
  • Exposure to Cloud Platforms including AWS, Azure, OpenShift, or Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable integration solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to support business platforms.
  • Work collaboratively within an Agile team, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Create containerized applications for deployment on OpenShift.
  • Ensure the performance, security, and reliability of backend systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with BPMN technologies such as Camunda BPMN.
  • Experience with DMN technologies such as Camunda DMN, Drools, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as React.
  • Usage experience with AI Code Assistants such as GitHub Co-Pilot or similar.
