Location: Atlanta, Georgia (preferred) or Remote with 20% travel

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the development and implementation of a Project Authorization Agreement (PAA) for a major transmission construction program. This role is open because of a need to revamp an existing agreement with accurate industry terminology. The individual will leverage transmission engineering and project delivery experience to guide stakeholder alignment, facilitate contractor engagement, assess project risks, and support the development of commercial requirements for successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior project management advisor for transmission construction projects.
• Evaluate project execution strategies, scope definition, constructability considerations, and delivery risks.
• Provide technical project leadership during the development of commercial and contractual project frameworks.
• Lead workshops and working sessions with cross-functional teams including project management, engineering, and legal stakeholders.
• Facilitate consensus among teams and serve as a bridge between technical project teams and commercial leadership.
• Participate in assessments of risk allocation, change management, and contractor performance expectations.
• Engage in meetings with construction contractors, reviewing comments for technical and execution implications.
• Support the development of documentation such as PAA Assessment Reports, Commercial Risk Assessments, and executive recommendation memos.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

Experience: 12+ years of electric utility experience, with 8+ years managing transmission and/or substation capital projects. Demonstrated experience with transmission line projects (69kV-500kV preferred) and working within utility project delivery organizations. Experience coordinating engineering, construction, project controls, and contractor stakeholders is necessary.

Skills: Must have transmission construction engineering experience and a strong project management skillset, including setting meetings, holding teams accountable, and removing bottlenecks. Knowledge of transmission line design, utility capital project delivery, construction contracting, project controls, and risk management is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• PMP certification.
• Experience with transmission-owning utilities.
• Experience supporting EPC, alliance, unit-rate, or fixed-price construction projects.
• Familiarity with project authorization agreements and large infrastructure contracting frameworks.
• Experience supporting FERC-regulated transmission projects.
• Background in transmission construction, field execution, or construction management.
