Quick overview
Job description
Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children, young people and families? Do you want to be part of a supportive team that values relationships, learning and early intervention?
At Swansea's Academy Team, we recognise the important role that Support Workers play in helping children and families achieve positive and lasting change. We are committed to providing a supportive, learning-focused environment where you can develop your skills, build confidence and contribute meaningfully to improving outcomes for children.
As part of the Academy Team, you will work alongside experienced Social Workers, Practice Leads and partner agencies who are committed to supporting your development and helping you build strong foundations for practice. You will receive regular supervision, guidance and opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills through training, reflective discussions and shared learning.
The role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to work directly with children, young people and families. You will support assessments and plans, undertake direct work, assist families in accessing services and community resources and help children and families identify and build upon their strengths and networks. You will play an important role in ensuring children's voices are heard and that their lived experiences remain at the centre of our work.
We are looking for someone who is motivated, approachable and committed to making a positive difference. You will be passionate about working alongside children and families in a respectful, strengths-based way, helping them to overcome challenges, build resilience and achieve their goals. You will understand the importance of building trusting relationships, promoting positive change and working collaboratively with families and professionals.
Our practice is founded on the belief that, wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so, children achieve the best outcomes when supported within their families and communities. We therefore seek Support Workers who share our commitment to relationship-based practice, partnership working and helping families identify sustainable solutions that improve children's wellbeing.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills within a supportive team that values learning, reflection and continuous development, while making a real difference to the lives of children and families across Swansea.
If you are enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to helping children and families thrive, we would love to hear from you.
