Job Description

French and Spanish Teacher – Wandsworth Secondary School

A reputable secondary school located in the dynamic borough of Wandsworth is currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic French and Spanish Teacher to join their thriving Modern Foreign Languages department. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire students and foster a love of language learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective French and Spanish lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Plan and implement a differentiated curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students make progress.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies and resources to create a stimulating and immersive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support individual development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the MFL department to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and developments in language teaching pedagogy.

Candidate Profile:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in French and/or Spanish or a related field.
  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Demonstrate proven experience teaching French and Spanish at the secondary school level (Key Stages 3-5).
  • Exhibit strong subject knowledge and a passion for language learning.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
