Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience with higher-environment build automation, auditing, administration, and maintenance of software configuration and version management processes.

  • 10+ years of experience researching, evaluating, and recommending application software products related to configuration management, build automation, and version management.

  • 10+ years of experience deploying and supporting new releases of application build, configuration management, and version management software.

  • 10+ years of experience providing technical guidance and recommendations to development teams regarding project administration and management for applications utilizing Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management tools.

  • Strong experience managing source code control, software baselining, branching, versioning, and release processes.

  • Extensive experience designing, maintaining, and enhancing automated application build and deployment processes.

  • Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts, tools, and best practices.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex build, deployment, configuration, and release-management issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage source code control processes and establish standards for source control, software baselining, branching, and versioning.

  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automated build and deployment processes.

  • Implement automation workflows supporting reliable and repeatable CI/CD processes.

  • Manage application builds and releases across development, testing, staging, and other higher environments.

  • Deploy new releases of application build, configuration management, and version management software.

  • Monitor and optimize build pipelines to reduce build times, improve reliability, and increase developer productivity.

  • Perform root-cause analysis for build and deployment failures and implement preventive and long-term corrective solutions.

  • Troubleshoot build automation, configuration management, source control, and deployment issues.

  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for systems utilizing Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management technologies.

  • Provide technical guidance to application development teams regarding build, configuration, release, and version-management processes.

  • Work with vendors and technical teams to investigate and resolve complex application build and infrastructure-related issues.

  • Participate in problem analysis, resolution, reporting, and issue tracking.

  • Evaluate existing build and deployment processes and recommend opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.

Azure DevOps & Build Administration

  • Administer Azure DevOps (ADO) environments supporting application builds and deployments.

  • Create, configure, and maintain build and release pipelines.

  • Create and manage source-code branches for different development and release stages.

  • Maintain Release and Sandbox environments and associated branching strategies.

  • Modify build and deployment tasks, variables, configurations, and parameters as applications progress through established environments.

  • Troubleshoot Azure DevOps pipeline, build, deployment, and configuration issues.

  • Determine whether technical issues can be resolved internally or require escalation to external support teams.

  • Coordinate troubleshooting for environments where server access or administrative permissions may be restricted.
